FinNuclear Training 2014:

Date: November 28, 2014 (Friday)
Place: Technopolis Helsinki-Vantaa, Teknobulevardi 3-5 D, Vantaa, Finland

This seminar provides the up-to-date information on the nuclear specifics of quality management by going through the NSQ-100 standard(*). The day is dedicated for quality professionals of both current and potential suppliers and service providers working in the nuclear industry.

*NSQ-100 is a new standard based upon ISO 9001:2008 and two other major nuclear quality standards IAEA GS-R-3:2006 and ASME NQA-1-2008 (and addenda 2009). NSQ-100 standard is also complemented by a series of correspondence matrices, e.g. to GS-R-3 (2006), KTA 1401 (2013-11) and 10 CFR 50 Appendix B (US NRC). The standard family is maintained by the Nuclear Quality Standard Association (NQSA), which was jointly launched by Areva and Bureau Veritas in 2011.

Preliminary program includes:

  • Overview and in-depth presentation of NSQ-100 standard and guidelines
    • Nuclear specific requirements, differences from ISO 9001:2008
    • Correspondence matrix NSQ-100 vs IAEA GS-R-3 (2006)
    • Use of NSQ-100 as supplier qualification,
    • Introduction to NQSA
    • Experiences on the application of NSQ-100 among NQSA members or on particular projects
  • Quality Management case presentations from selected companies
    • NSQ-100 from nuclear power plant vendor’s perspective, experiences, by Rusatom Overseas, an NQSA member
    • Wärtsilä Finland
  • Development work in nuclear quality standards (ISO/TC85 Nuclear energy, nuclear technologies, and radiological protection, IAEA “GSR Part 2”)
  • Q&A, discussions
The language of the training is English.
