FinNuclear Training: Supply process in the nuclear industry

Dates: October 6-7, 2015, 1.5 days
Place: Tampere or Helsinki region, Finland

*The course will be held either in Finnish or in English depending on the expressions of interest.

This popular 1.5-day training package opens up the nuclear supply and licensing process in Finland from suppliers' perspective through a simple case study based on the new YVL E.3 guide "Pressure vessels and piping of a nuclear facility". Participants will gain the basic knowledge and understand the principle of the supply process of the nuclear projects according to Finnish regulation and practice.

Lecture topics include safety culture, relevant legislation in Finland, quality management, oversight of manufacturing processes including documentation and inspection. In addition to lectures, there is an interactive group exercise to simulate a safety class 3 supply process case example. Groups will go through a simplified process between signing the contract and delivery handover while interacting with the stakeholders such as regulatory authority, licensee and customer.

Organized in co-operation with STUK and experienced experts. Due to the nature of the training, the number of participants is limited.

The training is best suited for those relatively new to working in the Finnish nuclear projects. However, as the YVL E.3 is a new revised guide issued in late 2013, the training serves also experienced suppliers as an update course by offering unique opportunity to directly speak with the experts of the field.
